The purpose of the Language Accessibility Advisory Committee (LAAC) is to provide recommendations for improving access to voting and election materials for limited English proficient (LEP) members of the community and increasing outreach to communities where English is a second language. The LAAC will provide input on the Department’s services and programs in languages other than English and assist with developing targeted marketing messages and materials to increase education and engagement opportunities.
LAAC meetings are held four times per year and members are asked to attend all meetings to ensure members are able to engage in an ongoing dialogue. If you are unable to attend all LAAC meetings, but are interested in joining, the Department will make every possible effort to ensure you have the opportunity to participate and share your feedback and recommendations.
If you would like to join the LAAC, please complete the interest form and return it to the Department of Elections. The information you provide will be used for contact purposes only and your responses to the questions are optional. Once we receive your interest form, a member of the Department’s Community Engagement Team will contact you with more information.
For more information, contact a member of the Community Engagement Team using the contact form or by calling (415) 554-4375.
